Geography/Culture/Attractions

.) Idaho features the longest undisturbed section of the original Lewis & Clark Trail, as the Corps of Discovery journeyed through the state in 1805-1806.

.) Idaho’s gold and silver rush in the 1800s led to the growth of small “boomtown” communities in Southwestern and Northern Idaho. While the boom has long since faded, a few historic mining towns remain, offering a fascinating window into Idaho’s past.  Atlanta is a small mining town on the west side of the Sawtooth Mountains, established in 1864. The small community boasts hot springs, historic buildings and breath-taking veiws of Greylock Mnt.

.) Idaho waterfalls include the impressive Shoshone Falls—higher than Niagara. Or, see the splendor of Lower and Upper Mesa Falls, located near the Henrys Fork of the Snake River.

.) Try a trip back in time where you can slow down and enjoy the view. Enjoy a picnic on the banks of a river during the summer and help feed elk in the winter. Come discover the old West. You might just discover yourself in the meantime.
